cost of attendance (jd)
2020-2021 academic year
the cost of attendance represents the average amount believed to be adequate to cover the tuition, fees, books, and living expenses of the student for the nine month academic year.
this figure also represents the maximum total financial aid package (all loans and scholarship combined) a law student can expect to receive per year.
your actual expenses may differ from those listed here. in some cases you may have lower expenses in one category which can compensate for higher expenses in another category.
we strongly encourage all students to take steps towards reducing or eliminating outstanding financial obligations prior to beginning law school so that this cost of attendance will be sufficient to meet your needs as a full-time student. individual counseling is available to assist students with debt management and financial planning issues so students are well-prepared for life after law school.
|tuition*||(flat rate) $59,280|
direct costs are actual charges applied directly to your student account, such as tuition and the student bar association (sba) fee.
any miscellaneous charges/fees added to the student account as they are incurred by the student, for example: on-campus housing, student health insurance, class fees, phone charges, etc.
non-direct costs are not charged to your student account. the non-direct costs include: board, books, supplies, transportation, and personal expenses. although individual expenses for non-direct costs may vary per student, the financial aid budget closely reflects the actual cost for each item listed above.
* j/d students enrolled in 9 units or less will be charged $2,180 per unit.
** the cost of attendance listed above does not include an allowance for the caruso school of law's mandatory health insurance policy. if you are not already covered by a policy and wish to purchase the student health insurance policy at pepperdine, your cost of attendance would be adjusted accordingly to include this cost.
